Overview

Lead and grow organization to design, develop and industrialize a competitive High Voltage Battery Systems in consumer and fleet vehicle applications. Institute standardized product development methods and processes to ensure smooth launches. Set product strategies and technology roadmap.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (80s of the Position)

  • Grow engineering team capabilities in the design and development of advanced high voltage Battery Systems. Lead with aggression, guile, and decisiveness
  • Develop long term roadmap and strategy for Canoo's High Voltage Battery Systems, with resource and financial needs
  • Maintain deep supplier relationships with key strategic suppliers for Cells, BMS and, charging systems
  • Evaluate, benchmark OEM and supplier technology roadmaps and formulate proof points to gauge Canoo's competitive posture
  • Create and maintain internal Canoo's high voltage battery pack platforms and vehicle use case roadmap
  • Drive Design for manufacturing by aligning Bill of Design and Bill of Process
  • Advise Canoo executive management on matters of High voltage energy storage systems
  • Up to 25% domestic travel
  • Qualifications

    Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering
  • 5 or more years' experience in leading engineering to develop high voltage energy storage systems and executing for production applications
  • Strong current network of contacts within the relevant hardware and software supply community
  • Executive presence to succinctly report status and recommendations for action
  • Experience creating and executing high voltage battery systems development and validation test plans
  • Up to date with current trends of high voltage battery systems, subcomponents, and charging system technologies
  • Preferred Experience

  • PhD or Master's Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering
  • Experience with automotive standards for high voltage energy storage systems
  • Experience with ISO26262 standards and due care criteria
  • Experience with High Voltage Battery related simulation tools

    Salary will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, training, skillset, location, etc. Expected salary range in CA - $184,300 - $230,400.
