The Assembler position performs day-to-day assembly tasks with our Hybrid/ERX product line and future products. The assembler performs these processes by sustaining quality and efficiency through standardized work instructions, 5S, in-process tests, end-of-line tests, and various other procedures. This person will work closely in the following areas but not limited to battery packs, battery boxes, cooling clips, drive axles, e-axles, some wire harnesses along with other smaller assemblies. This person will help achieve timelines, and delivery targets, promoting safety/5S culture and working cross-functionally with other departments.

Key Job Responsibilities include:

  • Use required PPE to promote a safe environment.
  • Observe and communicate stock needs for assemblies.
  • Use hand tools, torque wrenches, fixtures, and other equipment to perform job duties.
  • Performs troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures on components, systems, and equipment that may fail EOL tests.
  • Records observations and findings during diagnostics and provides feedback to team leads and supervision to implement corrective measures as necessary through the H.I.T.S (Hyliion Issues Tracking System).
  • Follow processes for quality, safety, ergonomic, and interdepartmental transactions.
  • Perform service pack repairs and document failures (H.I.T.S.).
  • Attend the Daily Huddles/Weekly Departmental Meetings
  • Maintain 5S and other lean standards within the shop area.
  • Conduct quality check/test for all assembly systems before release to the next station or the install area.
  • Support and fully comply with Company and Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Works and communicates well with others while exhibiting behaviors that align with Hyliion's core values.
  • Ability to utilize standard work instructions and other procedures put in place.
  • Qualifications include:

  • Education
  • High School diploma, GED
  • Specialized knowledge/Professional Certifications (preferred)
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Hybrid or Electrification a plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Required Skills
  • Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Communicates effectively with others and cross-functionally.
  • Ability to read work instructions and prints
  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer skills utilizing Microsoft office.
