What to Expect

Tesla is searching for a passionate Associate Maintenance Manager highly motivated to lead part of the Production Control Maintenance Department at Gigafactory Nevada in implementing, maintaining and improving our world-class maintenance program. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department including the upkeep of all manufacturing assets and resources while developing and driving the team to continuous success. The Associate Maintenance Manager will oversee multiple shifts of Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians while supporting Tesla's mission to help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

What You'll Do

  • Establish and communicate direction and priorities for the maintenance team
  • Drives the maintenance and reliability initiative focused on preventive and predictive maintenance rather than reactive maintenance
  • Setting and maintaining departmental goals and KPI's, monitoring line efficiencies, labor cost, and other department expenses
  • Partners cross-functionally to manage, maintain and establish maintenance procedures for production lines to ensure production meets or exceeds the targets
  • Maintains manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvals
  • Developing and maintaining associate safety standards
  • Provides training and continuous development to both direct and indirect reports
  • Performs performance evaluations on direct reports
  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations.
  • What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of operations maintenance management with past hands-on experience maintaining industrial material flow equipment and automation
  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or equivalent working experience
  • Strong maintenance and reliability knowledge with applicable improvement and/or implementation experience
  • Safety and risk management experience
  • Maintenance database set-up and management
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program implementation
  • Green belt / Black belt certification is a plus
  • Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes including strong Allen Bradley PLC experience, Fanuc and/or Kuka robot experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge/experience managing maintenance and preventative maintenance through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management system)
  • Detail oriented and organized with proficient computer skills in spreadsheets; databases and word processing
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Self-motivated, results orientated and excellent personal skills and not afraid to get their hands dirty
