Position Overview

As a Benefits Manager, you will be a critical member of the HR Operations and Total Rewards team by Managing and supervising all aspects of employee benefit programs, including health benefits, Proterra's self-insured Workers' Compensation program, leave programs, wellness programs, employee discount program and 401K plan. Reporting to the Director of HR Operations & Total Rewards, who provides oversight and general direction over Benefits Programming and costs. This role will be expected to work independently and manage a benefits/leave specialist.

About the Role – You will:

· Manages and implements benefits program strategies and initiatives.

· Optimize technology to lead benefits processes and communications with participants and spouses; provide clear information that conveys value to employees.

· Oversee the proper administration and implementation of the company's health and retirement benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, LTD, 401k, etc.) in accordance with policies and procedures while ensuring legal compliance with government regulations (COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, ACA, Section 125, Form 5500 filings, etc.)

· Direct and manage benefits processes and events (enrollments, benefits administration, leave management, retirement, wellness programs and related communications); identify & and implement innovative solutions that support continuous improvement.

· Oversees and manages relationships with benefits vendors and service providers, conducts planning meetings, and ensures compliance with plan provisions.

· Responsible for company-wide benefits communications content and delivery

· Stays informed of new employee benefits related laws, regulations and trends.

· Performs research and analysis, provides consultation, and makes recommendations to the Director, HR Ops and Total Rewards regarding benefits program design and policy development. Provides direct service to employees.

· Develops and Manages Workers' Compensation program and ensures collaboration between leave requester, injured, supervisors, adjuster, and providers to facilitate satisfactory resolution of claims.

· Oversees leave and absence management, reports, calculations for recouping benefits costs in partnership with payroll team.

· You will report to the Director of HR Operations and Total Rewards and collaborate with other HR team members located across our various sites.

Your Experience Includes:

· Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management or related field required.

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in benefits management and 2 years of experience in a leadership role.

· Expert and comprehensive knowledge of benefits program concepts, principles, and related laws and regulations.

· Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

· Superb analytical skills and expert Excel skills

· Strong experience with HRIS systems (UKG experience highly preferred)
