Job Location

  • Manhattan Beach, CA (Hybrid Work – In Office and Remote) is preferred.

  • Role Overview

    As a Buyer, Chassis you will manage the purchasing life cycle for production parts for vehicle projects for the Chassis commodity. This role requires exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. A successful candidate needs to thrive in a pressurized environment using data and facts to help identify risks, manage resources, and solve problems quickly and effectively. A dedicated team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries is required to be successful in this position.

    Responsibilities

  • Development of procurement strategy, establishment of purchasing budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures within the organization

  • Building and developing supply chain organization to support vehicle projects and ongoing cost reduction activities.

  • Negotiate key contracts to optimize value.

  • Develop business intelligence based on continuous market analysis, monitoring, and forecasting against variable market conditions.

  • Negotiate contractual terms and interpret existing contract frameworks, demonstrating an understanding of legal principles.

  • Build internal relationships, assessing the capabilities of suppliers.

  • Create supplier scorecards to drive for continuous improvement and creation of best practice-based processes and procedures.

  • Program gateway delivery and reporting

  • Ensure that internal operations and supplier activities are conducted in an ethical, responsible manner, using ISO2600/20400 as a basis.

  • Product definition, attributes, and specification cascade for sourcing activities

  • Program metrics generation, including timing, delivery status, cost status.

  • Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or related subject (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Automotive/OEM purchasing or supplier management.

  • Proven knowledge of different metal forming and assembly technologies: Machining, Die-Castings, Stamping, Extrusions

  • Experience in the application of PPAP processes in the supplier base

  • Supplier Management and Readiness experience

  • Problem solving; 8D, Practical problem-solving capability.

  • Proficient in the application of vehicle project management strategies

  • Superior relationship skills in creating and fostering working relationships within Purchasing, internal business areas and supplier.

  • Ability to make strategic sourcing recommendations and take appropriate action.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Deep knowledge of sourcing, procurement principles, procurement systems and large company best practices

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Expected Salary Range : $50,960.00 - $141,960.00 per year.

    Additional compensation : Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

    Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

    The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, considering the wide variety of factors listed above.
