  • Role Overview

    As a Buyer, Engineering Services & Electrical, you will manage the Engineering Services for vehicle projects and the Purchasing life cycle for production parts for vehicle projects for the Electronics and Software Commodity. This includes Engineering design development with suppliers, vehicle cyber security, Control Modules, sensors, and vehicle related software. In this role, you must have exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills as you will support but not be limited to all aspects of the commercial relationship with the supply base and key internal stakeholders (software purchases, cyber security, and engineering).

    A successful candidate needs to thrive in a pressurized environment using data and facts to help identify risks, manage resources, and solve problems quickly and effectively. A dedicated team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries is required to be successful in this position.

    Responsibilities

  • Development of procurement strategy, establishment of purchasing budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures within the organization.

  • Building and developing supply chain organization to support vehicle projects and ongoing cost reduction activities.

  • Negotiate key contracts to optimize value, using knowledge of electrical and electronic systems costing and global engineering labor rates.

  • Develop business intelligence based on continuous market analysis, monitoring, and forecasting against variable market conditions.

  • Negotiate contractual terms and interpret existing contract frameworks, demonstrating an understanding of legal principles.

  • Build internal relationships, assessing the capabilities of suppliers.

  • Create supplier scorecards to drive for continuous improvement and creation of best practice-based processes and procedures.

  • Program gateway delivery and reporting.

  • Product definition, attributes, and specification cascade for sourcing activities.

  • Program metrics generation, including timing, delivery status, cost status.

  • Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or related subject (or equivalent).

  • In depth knowledge of Global Engineering labor rates and Engineering services expenses from strategic purchasing perspective.

  • Proficient in the application of vehicle project management strategies.

  • Problem solving; practical problem-solving capability.

  • Proven history of working within automotive organizations.

  • Superior relationship skills in creating and fostering working relationships within Purchasing, internal business areas and supplier.

  • Ability to make strategic sourcing recommendations and take appropriate action.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Deep knowledge of sourcing, procurement principles, procurement systems and large company best practices.

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Independent/initiative-taker.

  • Fluent spoken and written English.

  • Travel as needed.

  • Expected Salary Range : $50,960.00 - $141,960.00 per year.

    Additional compensation : Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

    Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

    The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, considering the wide variety of factors listed above.
