What to Expect
Tesla is seeking an electrical controls design engineer to join the team in Elgin. The team in Elgin is responsible for building custom machines for various Tesla manufacturing facilities.
We are looking for a highly motivated, “hands-on” individual to join our controls team for the development and implementation of leading-edge machine control systems for a new generation of automated manufacturing equipment.
What You'll Do
Design of control systems for custom engineered, automated machinery and robotics including selection of appropriate control components/sensing systems, preparation of electrical and pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, Bills of Material and system electrical documentation. umentation.
What You'll Bring
Electrical, Electro-Mechanical or Electronics Eng. Degree or Diploma or 5+ years of experience in industrial automation controls design
Good working knowledge of EPlan software or other Electrical CAD tools.
Familiar with various codes and standards. NFPA, UL508A, CEC, and IEC.
Exposure to various PLC models and brands (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
Familiar with field sensing devices, laser, proximity, and analog sensors.
Familiar with AC and DC motor controls.
Familiar with pneumatics and pneumatic control logic
Nice to have:
Experience with EPlan
Automotive experience or controls integration experience is a plus
