What to Expect
The Infrastructure Design team is looking for an Electrical Engineer to be a part of our team. This individual will be supporting projects across the Bay Area in design development and execution of complex new and tenant improvement R&D facilities. The Electrical Designer will work under the technical supervision of our engineers.
What You'll Do
• Provide advanced drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining construction drawings, facilities layouts, and engineering drawings
• Produce complex technical drawings including single line diagrams, layout drawings, panel schedules. Verify using field surveys and develop as-builts
• Develop simple to mid-level designs/layouts through fabrication level 3D models
• Prepare designs and bill of material estimates from general instruction
• Work with various manufacturing, construction, and facilities stakeholders to understand end user needs and deliver results that meet the collective team's needs
• Must be able to prioritize and manage heavy workload on multiple projects to ensure high quality and productivity
• Resolve design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines
• Ability to get hands dirty and work on the lines to understand fundamental problems
What You'll Bring
• Expert Knowledge of REVIT MEP. Ability to complete electrical circuiting, coordinate and route, work in work sets, and create families in Revit
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical distribution systems design up to 480VAC. Medium Voltage (12kV) system design experience an asset
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent and the evidence of exceptional ability
• Solid understanding of the NFPA 70 (NEC) and 70E as well as its practical applications
• Skilled in detailed design of complete Low Voltage power distribution systems including switchgears, substations, panelboards, circuit breakers and interconnecting wires
• Ability to complete short circuit analysis and AC Load studies – Proficient with SKM Power Tools
• A good understanding about the constraints on physical placement and routing of electrical components such as conduit, cable tray and electrical equipment
• Competency in the following software tools: Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks
• Construction coordination experience an asset
• Ability to obtain PE or EIT certification and be registered in any State.
