What to Expect
THE ROLE
Tesla manufacturing pilot team is seeking an independent low voltage integration and repair engineering technician. This role will be mainly responsible for the integration, testing and repair of wire harness and PCBA controller. A strong technical aptitude, fast trouble-shooting capabilities, and good communication skills are needed in order to succeed in this role.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
Understand the electrical schematics and work with engineering team to perform installation of wire harness and PCBA controller
Perform controller CAN communication firmware testing, troubleshooting and diagnosing
PCBA controller rework and soldering
Wire harness and connector crimping and rework
Create work instruction for wire harness installation and repair
Provide clear, accurate timely information feedback to engineers about build progress during testing and builds
Make, purchase, update, repair prototype harnesses in prototyping and pilot build phase
Work with engineering team to continuously improve designs and processes
Perform service and upgrade hardware and make clear documentations
Support mechanical assembly build, and mechanical repair if needed
What You'll Bring
Requirement:
Able to read and understand electrical schematics and engineering drawings
Experience with PCBA level diagnostic and rework (such as soldering)
Experience with wire harness and connector rework (such as crimping)
Experience multimeter, current clamps and oscilloscopes
Experience with firmware testing and diagnostics
Experience with debugging and interfacing with CAN protocols
Experience with MS office tools such as PPT and excel
Experience with CAN tools such as PCAN- Peak system
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Must be willing to work night shift and weekends as needed to support build
Willing to travel domestically in short term if needed
Experience with and willing to support mechanical assembly
Mechanical repairs experience is preferrably, but not required
