What to Expect
The Role
Facilities Maintenance Technicians maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install
electrical, mechanical equipment and fire systems within a Tesla Facility.
Facilities Maintenance Technicians utilize technical, interpersonal and
critical thinking skills, while working as a team with the entire Facilities
Operations and Maintenance departments, performing general maintenance duties,
preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge in mechanical, electrical
and plumbing systems with facilities equipment and systems
Maintain, operate, diagnose, analyze and repair industrial Facilities
equipment including boilers, chillers, air handling units, dehumidifiers,
VAV systems, hydronic systems, air compressors, air dryers and exhaust
ventilation.
Perform preventative maintenance on facilities systems including required
calibrations as scheduled
Install or repair various facilities infrastructure equipment and support
equipment including ductwork, piping, exhaust, wiring and HVAC.
Building Management System (BMS) experience and familiarity with
Automated Logic, Trane controls and similar systems.
Perform other skilled mechanical or electrical services as necessary in
accordance with requests from leadership
Make periodic inspections of all mechanical and electrical equipment and
systems
Monitor and escort sub-contractors in performance of work
What You'll Bring
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC technician in
industrial/commercial and or lab/R&D environments
Associates Degree or Trade School preferred
EPA Universal License preferred
Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and
PowerPoint.
Must be familiar with HVAC and electrical codes
Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and
company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Demonstrated technical ability in the repair and maintenance of industrial
HVAC systems
Self-directed with the ability to be resourceful, plan and organize work
Provide good communication skills written and verbally.
A team player with a professional demeanor with outstanding customer focus
Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints,
and schematics
Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing
defective parts
Using lifts and ladders
Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects
the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
Provides excellent customer service
Completes tasks in a timely manner and provides feedback
Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft
Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
Strong understanding of controls valves, dampers, and associated actuators
Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact
with all levels of management; must have high degree of initiative, and
the ability to work alone and effectively with other people
