Role Overview:
This technical role requires an experienced EV and HV service professional who can improve product and diagnostic quality, reduce warranty costs, and increase customer satisfaction. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be part of the Technical Service Team and will travel extensively to diagnose and repair vehicles. You will work collaboratively to assist in the development of diagnostic processes, systems, and technical information so that technical issues can be immediately identified, reported, and addressed to ensure vehicles are fixed right the first time.
Our ideal candidate must exhibit the ability to work effectively and independently as part of a team with a can-do attitude. The applicant must be able to use proprietary and engineering tools to diagnose and program vehicles, recognize emerging trends, resolve difficult to diagnose issues, and support the diagnostics ecosystem. Experience working in a fast-paced, high- tech and customer obsessed environment with a diverse set of global stakeholders and comfortable with change are necessary.
Responsibilities:
Focus on difficult technical cases and repairs by utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques
Perform repair, technical analysis, investigation, and inspection of special case vehicles involved in incidents, repeat repairs, collisions, emergencies, etc. which onsite support or data gathering is time sensitive and business critical
Provide onsite field support and specialized training to local technicians
Provide technical mentorship for local service locations promoting best practices, safety, and efficiency
Identify and report complex technical issues as well as effectiveness of diagnostics, software updates, repair plans and corrective actions
Collaborate with Technical Service Engineers to monitor, investigate and solve emerging technical issues
Assist in the development, validation and improvement of service diagnostic tools and processes
Influence required technical training requirement and development
Improve operational Key Performance Indicators such as Fix Right the First Time, response & deployment time, and customer satisfaction
Prevent Lemon cases and assist Legal as a technical expert as necessary
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Science or Engineering
Minimum 7 years of related field service experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on HV system experience with practical hands-on EV Powertrain & OTA technology
Minimum 3 years of working in accident reconstruction and/or product liability
OEM and/or ASE Master Technician with EPA 609 Certification are preferred
ASE L3 Hybrid/EV Certification and L4 ADAS Certification are preferred
Live High Voltage (HV) System qualification and experience are preferred
Strong CAN & LIN analysis using advanced diagnostic tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Meticulous attention to detail focusing on customer satisfaction and quality improvement
Able to work independently in a fast-paced startup and customer obsessed environment
Competent to meet tight deadlines and drive accountability in a high- pressure situation
Ability to work without direct supervision, an independent self-starter with a sense of urgency
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to travel both domestically, as well as internationally with a valid passport, on a short notice to diagnose and repair vehicles
Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends as needed to meet deadlines and goals, headquarters in California.
Exposed to service workshop environment that requires lifting moderate weights, standing for long hours, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.
Expected Salary Range
$19.59 to $44.00 per hour. per year.
Additional Compensation
Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
