Brief Description

A Final Assembler performs parts and material installation and assembly tasks per written and verbal work instructions.

Responsibilities

Performs installations and assembles parts according to special written work instructions, routings, blueprints and verbal directives.

Cleans, assembles, disassembles and replaces parts as required.

Maintains a clean and safe working environment and optimizes space utilization.

Communicates and cooperates with supervisors and coworkers.

Operates and maintains shop equipment.

Follows quality service standards and complies with procedures, rules and regulations.

Keeps production supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

One year of related experience.

Must have experience in the interior and exterior trim installation on trucks, buses or automobiles.

Manufacturing and/or automotive experience preferred.

Willingness to travel if required.

Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of standing.

Required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and crawl.

Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Ability to see and adjust visual focus both up-close and at a distance; position requires peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to see and distinguish colors.

Work Environment

Exposure to high-levels of noise.

Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots and hardhats.

Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Position may operate a motor vehicle and may work outdoors.

Education & Training:

Qualified candidates for the West Virginia position will receive on the job training and will be required to attend education and training classes at BridgeValley Community & Technical College.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for this position will be in the range of $18 TO $20 per hour. Qualified candidates will generally work a 40-hour work week, working four, 10-hour shifts.
