Brief Description

A General Assembler performs parts and material installation and assembly tasks per written and verbal work instructions.

Reports to (title): Production Supervisor


  • Performs installations and assembles parts according to special written work instructions, routings, blueprints and verbal directives.
  • Cleans, assembles, disassembles and replaces parts as required.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment and optimizes space utilization.
  • Communicates and cooperates with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Operates and maintains shop equipment.
  • Follows quality service standards and complies with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Keeps production supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Reading and basic math skills; ability to understand verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Skilled in use of hand tools, shop tools, equipment and measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures; machinery and forklift experience are preferred.
  • Manufacturing and/or automotive experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and crawl.
  • Frequent use of hand tools and materials which may create repetitive hand motion.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs., and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to see and adjust visual focus both up-close and at a distance; position requires peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to see and distinguish colors.

  • Work Environment

  • Exposure to high levels of noise.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots and hardhats.
  • Required to drive and may at times work outdoors.
  • Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Compensation for this position will be in the range of $18 TO $20 per hour. Qualified candidates will generally work a 40-hour work week, working four, 10-hour shifts.
