What to Expect

The Procurement Specialist position is the bridge between our vendors, contractors, and our project teams. The Architectural Global Supply Manager works closely with Project Managers, Designers, Manufacturers, Contractors to ensure the successful purchasing, expediting, contracting for architectural scopes including but not limited to drywall, framing, wall finishes, millwork, tile flooring, natural stone, glass & glazing, fixtures, terrazzo, carpet, window shades, doors, hardware, roofing, painting.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with project managers, design team and suppliers to ascertain timeline, budget, and deadlines for each project
  • Prepare and initiate RFP's, bid leveling and project awards
  • Coordinate and execute Purchase Orders and Work Authorization for assigned contractors, services, and/or commodities
  • Strengthen vendor relationships; develop, source, rand maintain key partnerships for Tesla
  • Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships, act as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues
  • Pre-qualify and synthesize supplier, industry, and market research for Architectural Materials and Services to develop sourcing strategy
  • Administer, facilitate and answer Requests for Information (RFI's) received during the tender process by issuing RFP Addendums agreements, as necessary, to mitigate Tesla's exposure to risk and consolidate suppliers spend
  • Help review estimates and proposals to develop commercial recommendations
  • Work on "Lean" initiatives and identify other sourcing efficiencies via benchmarking, VA/VE, competitive quotes, and resourcing
  • Collaborate with design team to source alternative architectural finishes to meet project schedules
  • Monitor and ensure that the services/commodities purchased are compliant with Tesla's global procurement policy
  • What You'll Bring

  • Experience working with designers/suppliers/vendors to source architectural materials and services, including Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analyses, and Contract Negotiations
  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve
  • MS or BS in Architectural Design and/or evidence of exceptional experience
  • Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analyses, and Contract Negotiations
  • Experience in executing Change Management processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement
  • Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Advanced excel skills a must have
  • Experience in estimating and budget control strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve, with demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement
