ROLE SUMMARY

The Engineering Change Group Leader position is one of the most important here at Rivian. Our group leaders motivate their teams to be their best and drive best practices to hit production milestones. Our team members and team leaders rely on the direction and support of their Group leaders for every shift to provide leadership and motivation. This position is based fully onsite in Normal, IL and reports to Process and Configuration Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the team(s) responsible for the Execution for the Engineering Changes within the warehouse or production facility and cover the role in case of absenteeism or turnover
  • Coordinate the Execution on the implementation of engineering changes & capture breakpoints and report out
  • Coordinate the Execution of the disposal or return of obsolete material
  • Continuous Improvement on the EC Process
  • Constant Communication working as a team with Engineering Change Analysts, Material Handling, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Production on new incoming parts
  • Track the arrival of material and/or escalate delays on the implementations
  • Will drive and make proper use of material handling equipment.
  • Will implement and improve process on the Engineering Change Process using standardized work
  • Material flows in a manner that supports a FIFO strategy
  • The cycle counting of inventory and report out discrepancies that affect the implementation.
  • Develop a management process to divide the workload even among the EC Techs
  • Maintain a safe work environment ensuring safe practices and 5S procedures are followed
  • Regular auditing of production line, plant warehouse, and offsite warehouse
  • Support resolving problems through a team-oriented approach.
  • Contact point for labels update, print and locate on any workstation on the plant
  • Responsible for managing material flows in a manner that supports a FIFO strategy.
  • Maintains high standards of inventory accuracy and manages the cycle counting of inventory.
  • Leads, develops and coaches EC Techs.
  • Drives a process improvement culture by empowering employees to continuously improve their processes and supports their initiatives by eliminating constraints and resolving problems through a team-oriented approach.
  • Maintains good labor practices.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility.
  • Trains, develops, and evaluates employees.
  • Maintains employee's records regarding safety, ergonomics, discrepancies, vacations, attendance, and O/T.
  • Documents and communicates best practices, problem resolution and performance data.
  • Drives effective collaboration by cross training team across different roles in production control
  • Visit customer locations & plants during major milestone events to support the teams when required.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Multiple teams consisting of team leaders and team members.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Flexibility to work 2nd shift and/or off shift (ABCD) required
  • Experience with Warehouse Management System “WMS” Software such as SAP Preferred
  • 3 years of previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge in SAP, Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills preferred.
  • Ability to set tasks/responsibilities and drive performance
  • Ability to think critically and utilize creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
  • Strong team orientation and cross functional attitude.
  • College degree preferred
  • 3 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts of volume and demand planning to establish labor plans.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively in a high-pressure environment.
