Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing hands-on and in-person customer level, Tier 1 support to Lightning eMotors employees by supporting company desktop/laptop hardware, software, and systems. The person in this role will also maintain, prioritize, and resolve active customer tickets/incident queues.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and configure Microsoft Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops for new and existing employees; participate in computer imaging and deployment/replacement for all computers and peripherals
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and responsive support for incoming queries and issues related to desktop and laptop hardware; Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating system software; and a wide range of desktop productivity applications
  • Support Microsoft Windows 10/11 profiles and customization of employee experience
  • Collaborate with HR for the onboarding, offboarding, and changes to employee status processes; providing formal orientations and trainings to new staff on a weekly basis
  • Participate in moves/adds/changes with Facilities
  • Provide support and configuration for remote employees and mobile devices
  • Provide support and configuration for computer peripherals and devices such as printers, copiers, and A/V systems
  • Document processes and procedures
  • Maintain accurate asset management records
  • Participate in endpoint security and patch management
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned

  • Time management : Ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve and escalate issues appropriately, meet deadlines, remain organized, and focused on work. Address questions and issues in a timely manner.
  • Technically savvy: You should possess strong problem-resolution methodology and a solid understanding of typical desktop productivity applications like MS O365 Suite, Adobe, etc. Proficiency in the latest technology for desktop/laptop systems and endpoint management and support in a Microsoft Windows 10/11 environment. You should have a desire to learn new skills and tools as well as the ability to apply oneself in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • What we require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in PC configuration, set up, deployment, and management
  • Demonstrated configuration experience with Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365) and related desktop productivity software
  • Experience supporting networked computers in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment
  • What we prefer:

  • CompTIA A+, or other relevant industry certifications
  • Microsoft Powershell scripting and Group Policy experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint configuration
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering industries
