ROLE SUMMARY

As a Global Supply Manager, you will be responsible for all commercial and strategic aspects of the awarding of new business, developing strong supplier relationships, and working side by side with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also take the lead in making sure Rivian can meet its cost targets, suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and parts are received at the highest level of quality. In our team, we expect our people to own every aspect of the strategic sourcing process from start to finish and everything in between. This opening is located at our Atlanta, GA facility and reports directly to the Group Manager of the CapEx Purchasing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead RFI/ RFQ/ RFP and strategic sourcing process.
  • Develop sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps.
  • Review Engineering, Design & Development (ED&D) costs with Engineering leads to ensure best-in-class cost is attained.
  • Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA's, General Terms & Conditions and Production Supply Agreements.
  • Ensure category spend is aligned with company objectives and contracts are in place and compliant for all suppliers
  • Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders.
  • Responsible for development, oversight and presentation of all sourcing selections to internal stakeholders
  • Perform detailed analysis of quote submissions based on cost breakdown form data.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics.
  • Manage budget in collaboration with Rivian Finance team.
  • Work closely alongside Design and Construction teams to support engineering requirements, execute against build milestones and track sourcing progress.
  • Partner with the construction and engineering team to forecast demand, understand the application, review proposals, and select vendors.
  • Support Supplier Quality plant audits and technical reviews.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 7+ Experience working with complex industrial equipment or on large capital projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Sourcing or sales engineering/business development role, preferably for Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing equipment/materials.
  • 5+ Experience negotiating contract and purchasing terms and conditions.
  • 3+ Experience developing “should-cost” estimates and analyzing supplier quotes.
  • Effective negotiation experience specific to facilities equipment contracts.
  • Ability to travel will be required on an as-needed basis.
