About the Role – You will:

  • Develop site maintenance plan utilizing existing documentation and new vendor recommendations.
  • Utilize TPM to maximize operational efficiency of the equipment.
  • Help select and implement a CMMS software.
  • Prepare and monitor progress on maintenance schedules (i.e., daily, weekly, etc.) and assign work to meet / ensure those schedules are achieved.
  • Hire, supervise and train maintenance team.
  • Implement and utilize visual management to measure / monitor the team's performance.
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
  • Lead all equipment troubleshooting efforts.
  • Develop manufacturing support plan leveraging internal resources and external vendor contacts.
  • Manage relationships with equipment vendors and other contractors / service providers.
  • Help develop the maintenance budget and work to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor inventory of necessary materials, equipment, spare parts, and place replenishment orders
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health / safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • This position will be part of the Manufacturing team that supports Proterra's Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • You will report to the Site Director and collaborate with other Manufacturing team members located at the facility.

  • Your Experience Includes:

  • 8+ years' experience in maintenance management role
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to support your direct team members
  • Knowledge of health / safety practices, policies, and regulations
  • Understanding of budget and performance management
  • Strong planning and leadership abilities
  • Physical Demands:
  • May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
  • Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
  • Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
  • Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
  • Environmental Demands:
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
  • Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
  • Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
  • Travel: 0 - 10%
