What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer, who will be responsible for design, development and installation of new manufacturing lines at Gigafactory Texas.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for Design, Installation, and Commissioning activities for Manufacturing Lines
  • Supports Equipment Design needs and necessary administrative tasks throughout multiple project phases (Create RFQ)
  • Provides clear direction and correlate feedback from suppliers ensuring equipment quality and performance are met
  • Works on Process Engineering (process development/improvement, troubleshoot, data analysis, etc.)
  • Develop Engineering Designs with suppliers and validates supplier output in various aspects (cycle time, line layout, process development, tooling, etc.)
  • Make detailed studies and possess excellent problem solving skills to mitigate any potential risk or design flaw
  • Develop and execute detailed project timeline and report out to management and executives
  • Facilitates equipment trials at both vendor site and Tesla Factories for final acceptance and handover to production team
  • Lead and work closely with launch team to carry out successful product launches
  • Provides guidance to engineering technicians, interns, and various workforce as necessary
  • Makes detailed documentation records of "as built" conditions and effectively communicate highlighted risks
  • Creates detailed lists and tracks project issues and open items
  • Works and coordinates activities with other cross functional teams (product design, quality, production, etc.)
  • What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines with minimum 3 years of experience in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience with process lines and automation; experience with brake presses, deburring and grinding is a plus
  • Knowledge of CATIA, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD is required
  • Excellent project and vendor management skills
  • Good understanding of Equipment Safety and Safety Compliance is a plus
  • Highly innovative & motivated individual who is also a good team player
  • Organized and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadline
  • Ability to solve problems with systematic and structured approach
  • High level of English proficiency
