What to Expect

The Metrology supervisor will work as a member of the Metrology group in the Quality organization. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establisheffective working relationships within Tesla cross-functional teams. Will be responsible for leadership over CMM and Blue Light operations, continued development for a team of technicians.

What You'll Do

Support development of each Metrology technician's expertise through training sessions or external technical training.

· Supervise all operations on all shifts in the Metrology lab while maintaining a good work environment and culture

· Able to communicate daily tasks to metrology team

· Support the development and lead the implementation of Metrology standards and best practices in all aspects of Dimensional inspection inside and outside the Metrology lab

· Oversee maintenance and development of the programming for existing and new projects

· Coordinate annual calibration and maintenance activities for the CMM's

· Work closely with Dimensional and Quality engineers in regards to continuous improvement activities, solving problems and improving overall product quality by having the proper CMM and PCMM programs

· Support Leads and Dimensional Engineers in root cause analysis by assuring that best practices are followed during CMM and PCMM operations.

· Oversee maintenance and development of the programming for existing and new projects

· BS in Engineering or manufacturing or evidence of exceptional ability from past experience.

· Flexible hours, willing to support the team 24/7

· 5+ years' experience working in Metrology or quality environment.

· Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

· Experience in high precision metrology, CAD and GD&T

· Detail oriented, ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, flexibility to reorganize and reschedule work on short notice to meet deadlines, have a strong quality mindset and enjoy working in a team environment.

· Strong interpersonal skills; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions of both internal Design/Manufacturing and Supplier relations

· PCDMIS and/or Calypso software experience preferred
