Brief Description:

A Parts Advisor with Greenpower Motor Company has the opportunity to contribute to a growing and fast paced department. This position will manage the inventory control system, administrative tasks, and tracking of warranty parts. As a member of the service team, this position will work alongside the Service Manager to maintain an inventory control system used to locate parts within current inventory and from other sources. This position will also be responsible for tracking incoming parts and ensuring they are delivered to the correct department. The ideal candidate has two years of experience with automotive parts inventory. This position requires high level creative thinking, conceptualization, implementation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

  • Oversees and maintains computerized parts inventory system.
  • Maintains a running inventory of regular, special-order, warranty parts and supplies.
  • Maintains parts inventory by verifying supplies and placing orders when order-points are reached.
  • Identifies optimum sources for replacement parts and assemblies.
  • Receives and inspects incoming shipments for correct quantity and quality of materials.
  • Process invoices for payments and maintains proper records.
  • Obtains quotes on major expenditures and obtains approval for nonroutine purchases.
  • Maintains knowledge of pricing, changes in parts, and technical service bulletin through collaborating with sales and other staff.
  • Manages warranty part orders and returns.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Requirements

    Requirements and Core Competencies:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in office administration.
  • Basic understanding of automotive parts and mechanical systems.
  • Basic mathematical skills to develop and maintain invoice and inventories.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite and related software programs.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a challenging, fast pace environment of multiple priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Considerable physical activity with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 pounds.

    Working Environment:

    Work is normally performed in an interior/office work environment.
