What to Expect
As an Associate Manager of Production Control, you will have the
responsibility to design and oversee material handing functions at Gigafactory
Texas. You will lead a team of Supervisors and take a KPI driven approach
toward meeting daily operational objectives. In this role, you will work
cross-functionally with inventory control, Production Control process, and
various other supply and logistics organizations to solve problems, drive
continuous improvement, and to achieve production targets.
What You'll Do
As a Manager of Production Control Warehouse, you will have the
responsibility to design and oversee material handing functions in the
Cell Materials production area
You will lead a team of Associates and take a KPI driven approach toward
meeting daily operational objectives
In this role, you will work cross-functionally with inventory control,
Supply Chain, PC process, and various other supply and logistics
organizations to solve problems, drive continuous improvement, and to
achieve GFTX production targets
This role will report to Cell Materials Operations Manager
Manage daily operations through Key Performance Indicators (KPI),
problem solving and driving continuous improvement to achieve the KPI
targets
Coach and mentor the associate managers on standard work, problem solving
and continuous improvement and effectively manage their performance
Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently
delivering high quality products against aggressive production targets
Create and maintain a culture that prioritizes safety, quality and cost
through communication, action, and accountability
Develop process and ensure accurate raw and finished material inventory
cycle counts
Implement 5s practices for the Cell Material warehouse and loading areas
Work cross functionally to improve processes, support inventory control
issues, address production bottlenecks and increase productivity
Training and development of associate managers, supervisors, leads and
associates
Support issue resolution through root cause analysis, implementing
permanent counter measures and an environment of continuous learning
Ensure production teams utilize standardized work and consistent work
practices across shifts and areas
Conduct daily process audits to ensure compliance of the team to
established standards, policies and procedures for safety, quality,
delivery and cost
What You'll Bring
7-10 years as a material handling/logistics, supply chain manager in a
manufacturing environment
Ability to foster and develop a strong team of material handling personnel
& leaders
Flexibility to change assigned work shift, as the Gigafactory, TX
continues to ramp the needs of production will change and this may result
in a change to work schedule to ensure the business demnds are met
Ability to maintain a safe work environment by establishing and enforcing
operational standards and procedures
Thorough knowledge of the Tesla Manufacturing process and all related
activities
Ability to trouble-shoot and improve/drive resolution of operational
issues
Understands lean manufacturing principles
Ability to meet operational and financial targets (labor efficiency,
trailer management, scrap reduction, overflow management, transaction
accuracy, downtime, etc.)
Supports objectives and targets of other PC groups (Warehouse management,
yard management, Inventory management)
Demonstrates integrity, enthusiasm, and team spirit with a drive for
continuous improvement
