What to Expect
The Production Manager will be responsible for meeting production forecasts and driving continuous improvement through the manufacturing process. They will provide hands-on support and direction to the operations team. This role will ensure quality and safety of the operation while driving continuous improvement of manufacturing. What You'll Do
Responsible for production including daily production planning, delivery to plan, production cost, (FTT) first time yield, safety, quality targets, and production staffing Maintain high product quality, safety and yield while ensuring optimal cost, use of resources and adherence to best safety practices Maintain the facility and equipment in optimal operating conditions through implementation of a preventative maintenance system and taking appropriate corrective actions where needed Hire, coach, lead and develop large scale teams made up of salaried and hourly team members Support upgrades, new products, and material introductions by supporting design teams, creating process plans, tracking budget costs and project schedules, and developing countermeasures for timely completion of project goals Drive Safety and Environmental compliance Drive high quality standards in everything we do such as process control systems, monitoring and managing key product metrics, consistency in documentation, and 5S initiatives Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives. Provide feedback to management on issues, benchmark other organizations for best practices Lead by example of positive reinforcement and make Tesla a World Class Manufacturing organization Collaborate across boundaries for the best outcome by working with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and Test and Quality departments Facilitate the development and deployment of standard works whenever a gap is identified
What You'll Bring
Minimum 8+ years' experience in a fast-paced high-volume manufacturing (automotive preferred)
Experience in a body shop department is a plus Profound understanding of manufacturing KPI's and developing action plans to drive results
Strong background in collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and NPI Demonstrated leader in developing technical and motivated teams
Experience and thorough knowledge of production systems and processes Proven trajectory of production team leadership, leading leaders, and building teams with critical thinking
Experience in new product development and launch activities
Experience with broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques
Drive a positive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and high moral environment
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Experience in hiring and developing new team members in a production environment
High-level leadership and decision-making skills
BS or MS in engineering and/or evidence of exceptional experience
