What to Expect
As a Production Control Supervisor, Indirect Products, you will be primarily
working out of the warehouse with various internal departments to identify the
required materials for each program. This S upervisor role requires a boots-
on-the-ground presence in the factory and strong knowledge of supply chain
planning and procurement. We are seeking candidates for both day and night
time shifts following the A,B,C,D schedule. As we continue to increase our
production volume there will be a need to demonstrate flexibility and work
different schedules to assist in reaching quarterly and annual production
goals.
What You'll Do
Provide supervision to associates and day-to-day operations including
receiving, stocking, shipping and all transactions related to
inbound/outbound activities
Ensure efficiency and accuracy of stocking and organization of inventory,
parts inventory for all indirect products
Work closely with 3rd party vendors, as well as internal/external
logistics and Quality teams, from around the globe
This position will report directly to the Associate Manager, Production
Control
Assist with setting up and maintaining the warehouse layout and overall
flow of materials
Train and assist other Tesla team members in locating indirect products,
and procuring said items if necessary
Manage space optimization within the distribution center
Ensure that warehouse staff effectively and efficiently performs timely
receiving, stocking, picking, packing and shipping of inventory to store
locations and external customers
Address issues with regard to any inbound packaging issues from our
internal and external suppliers
Communicate with internal teams and internal/external customers, keeping
all informed of the inventory and shipping status including No Bin, No
Cost, No Movement reporting
Regularly monitoring the inventory work, the implementation of assigned
processes, such as coordinate a cycle count program, and troubleshoot all
order problems, and suggesting changes accordingly
Resolve process issues related to materials management, warehousing,
production control, logistics, distribution, and returns
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in a fast-paced warehouse or
distribution center environment, preferably automotive-related
Flexibility to change assigned work shift, as the Gigafactory, TX
continues to ramp the needs of production will change and this may result
in a change work schedule to ensure the business demnds are met
Robust experience in creating metrics for performance management
Able to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various
teams including service and warehousing persoanll
In-depth experience in change management process (ECO)
Knowledge and application of TPS, Min/Max principles, and Logistics
methodology in a JIT environment
Proven ability to provide leadership and motivation to a large group of
warehouse personnel
Familiarity with outbound shipping requirements of components via common
freight carriers domestically and internationally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills and experience
using SAP a huge plus
Excellent Organization skills to track and monitor transactions coming
into the department
