About the Role – You Will:
Under supervision of the Battery Staff Engineer, support for
Remanufacturing or repair for all Battery Packs requiring service due to
field returns or process defects.
Rebuild and repair any pack defects generated in-process or from returned
packs utilizing torque tools, electrical test equipment, and functional
test equipment.
Actively participle in Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving to
determine source of failure from returned packs and in-factory defects.
Maintain through, detailed documentation of remanufacturing work done
utilizing Excel and our Manufacturing Execution System for traceability
and to assist cross-functional teams in Root Cause Analysis.
Interface with engineering and production departments to troubleshoot
mechanical and electrical issues.
Write and develop rework/repair instructions and procedures with support
from Design Engineering.
Maintain daily 5S standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

This position will be part of the Battery team that supports Proterra's
Manufacturing and Engineering operations.
You will report to the Process Engineer – Battery Line and collaborate
with other Battery team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame,
CA and manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA and Greenville, SC.

Your Experience Includes
High School diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience working with manufacturing
Through understanding of technical components and processes involved in
Battery Pack assembly.
Proven ability to read and interpret engineering requirements from text to
drawings.
Proven ability to use a variety of tools, precision-measuring instruments
and multi-meters
Physical Demands:
May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
Environmental Demands:
Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
