LMC Resident Engineer will be stationed at Foxconn Plant at Lordstown, Ohio.
The Resident Engineer is 'first line of defense' with regards to vehicle
quality, plant build issues to improve FTT, engineering action validation and
customer Warranty issues.
Following are key responsibilities of Resident Engineer:
Resident Engineer to be proficient in advance quality process, tools,
problem solving skills and work with cross functional teams using systems
engineering principles.
Work with assembly plant variation reduction team and understand
manufacturing, assembly and supplier quality issues resolution by using 8D
principles
Review incoming warranty claims data on daily basis, contact
dealership/service department for parts and repair diagnoses, proper
understanding of customer feedback, review returned parts for root cause
analyses and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions
Support assembly plant with FTT, Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns,
Audits, and other Quality related tasks.
Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and
lead cost reduction and quality improvement actions for current production
vehicles
Lead engineering trials under DAR (deviation) and the implementation of
running changes for the sub-system
Lead immediate containment actions under DAR (deviation) in the event of
product and/or service concerns, and provides the technical and functional
expertise necessary to identify technical root causes and assure precise,
timely and effective countermeasure implementation, up to and including
sustainability of lessons learned
Develop and execute initial containments with 3rd party companies, product
verifications and analyze resulting data, and document results
Administer rework/repair methods and processes in compliance with
engineering and quality standards as necessary to provide rapid,
effective, sustainable clean points and provide rework personnel training
and oversight as necessary
Engage technical experts in LMC functional team leaders/members for
driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product
Quality
Make presentations to various levels of upper management and report out
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, BSME or BSEE
Minimum 5 Years of experience in Automotive Engineering
Strong understanding of Product development, Manufacturing (Process,
Tooling and Quality), customer requirements and relationships and
Warranty feedback
Engineering Problem solving; Certification or demonstrated equivalent
ability in a technical problem-solving discipline (Six Sigma, Shainin,
Kepner-Tregoe, etc.)
Ability to establish a system engineering approach to problem solving
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools for documentation and presentation
Working in a fast-paced challenging environment
