Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master's and Ph.D. preferred.
Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanics of material
In depth knowledge of vibration and acoustic theory
Deep understanding of isolation, damping, stiffness and mass impact on vibration
System Analysis – Road Shake, Road Noise, Normal Mode (BIW, Trimmed- body), Point Mobility, Static Bending & Torsion
Expert applied skill in ANSA, META-Post, NVH Director, NVH Console, Hyperworks, ABAQUS, and other FEM codes
Excellent root cause and problem-solving skills in automotive NVH.
Understanding of vibrations analysis and the use of vibration transfer functions (VTF)
Experience with body and chassis automotive components and vehicle systems
Prior expertise in using CAE tools to identify and resolve vehicle NVH issues
Well-versed in acoustic analysis and understanding of road noise contributions
5-10 year's experience in Automotive NVH
Responsibilities:
Setup, run and evaluate NVH simulations at a subsystem, trimmed body and full vehicle level.
Evaluate NVH requirements using latest CAE methods & tools.
Develop CAE modelling methods, requirements & perform correlation studies with physical test data.
Carryout normal modes, FRF and transient simulations.
Generate noise transfer functions (NTF) and to interpret to make directional design suggestions.
Setup and evaluate transfer path analysis
Setup and evaluate Frequency response analysis (FRF) for dynamic stiffness at body attachment locations
Develop & optimize body / closure structures to meet requirements.
Develop process improvements to enable faster, enhanced, more robust analysis to be performed.
Work collaboratively with attribute, testing and product teams to enhance the NVH predictability and play a vital role in NVH performance.
