What to Expect
Disclaimer: This position is expected to start around August 2023 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through December) or into Spring 2024 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time depending on their academic standing.

About the team
Technical Support Engineer intern will provide support for industrial battery energy storage products. This primarily involves diagnosing and resolving equipment problems reported by Tesla's customers and internal automated asset monitoring infrastructure. This is accomplished in connection with Tesla and 3rd party on-site field technicians. The internship also involves the remote commissioning of new equipment deployed to our customers, along with supporting site and product level quality issues.
The Tesla Energy team is committed, and fast moving, consisting of applications engineers, power and control systems engineers, project engineers, product support engineers that sit at the center of business development, Tesla technology, the deployment and service of stationary storage projects on the grid. As a member of our team, Intern will help to shape the success of our projects in various applications worldwide. You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world's energy infrastructure and must want to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
What You'll Do
• Perform Advanced SQL queries on massive datasets to create analytics that provide insight to drive action using various SQL languages and Spark distributed infrastructure.
• Create and maintain analytics dashboards (using Tableau and similar tools).
• Create and maintain data ELT pipelines using Airflow scheduling.
• Use Git and Jira for workflow tracking.
What You'll Bring
• Currently working towards a degree in a relevant program such as Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Computer etc…), Data Analytics, Business Analytics / MBA with analytics focus or similar. • High proficiency in SQL and Python (particularly pandas). • Experience with creating dashboards or visual analytical presentations. • A bias for action and a passion for sustainable energy • Remain engaged, proactive, and positive while solving very challenging problems
Desired Competencies • Tableau certification or similar dashboarding certification. • Experience using Spark. • Experience creating and maintaining ETL's and data pipelines. • Experience with Airflow.
