What to Expect
This position is an integral part of the Supply Chain Operations organization
and will be responsible for managing the development, selection,
implementation & optimization of a growing team of Supplier Quality Engineers,
and Supplier Quality Assurance technicians. The successful candidate will
mentor and guide the engineering team, ensuring all vehicle component parts
comply with CAD, and design intent. This individual will be responsible for
guiding, mentoring, and training the team of new engineers in quality
processes, engineering fundamentals, problem solving, statistics, and
manufacturing basics.
What You'll Do
Work closely with Engineers from Production, Quality, Design and Suppliers
to ensure that only conforming material is shipped to Tesla
Monitor supplier key performance metrics; OEE, cost, and capabiity to
drive improvements in quality, productivity, and costs. Develop new
engineers in advanced problem solving, and Lean Concepts, and deploy these
tools at suppliers
Develop and lead training programs and hire plans for QC team members
Drive timely analysis and disposition of supplier engineering issues
Lead issue resolution in conjunction with the Quality Engineering groups
for all shops in the Tesla Factory incl. root cause investigation &
corrective action tracking
What You'll Bring
5+ years' experience leading engineering teams
Experience working in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
Proficient knowledge in applying business system applications to manage,
synthesize, and interpret data
Ability to operate relevant personal computing hardware and standard
software
A deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, etc desired
