Overview

Being part of our dimensional engineering team contributes to the reliability and performance of the company's offerings. You will play a vital role in identifying and addressing any dimensional variations, collaborating with cross functional teams to improve engineering and manufacturing processes, and maintaining high-quality standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (80s of the Position)

  • 3DCS experience - Build and maintain a complex model.
  • Root Cause analysis - Experience with SPC systems - Use statistical tools and methods to monitor and control dimensional variations throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 – 2018) principles and their application in manufacturing and quality control.
  • Collaborative Problem solving - Create and collaborate with cross functional teams to address dimensional issues - design, production, and quality assurance.
  • Single Part Check fixture design - support engineering and manufacturing, Buy-off procedure.
  • Measurement and inspection - Experience with the different measurement systems (coordinate measurement, vision, optical) and able to conduct measurements and inspections to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Tolerance analysis – Assess whether product and components meet specified dimensional tolerances and geometric standards (3D, 1D, RSS, etc.)

    Qualifications

    Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field
  • 3 years minimum experience in developing 3DCS models.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as Dimensional Engineer or in a related role within the quality sector.
  • SPC System experience – Use and monitoring.
  • Interpret and define GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 2018.
  • Measurement and inspection tool experience
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • CATIA V6 software.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with industry standards related to dimensional quality.
  • Record of contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to dimensional quality and process optimization.
  • ASME GD&T certification.
  • Hands-on experiences with manufacturing fixtures
  • Travel Requirements

  • Travel as required to support engineering, production and prototype build as well as supplier visits, 10%.
