Process Engineering for new product introduction of Seats & GA Sub-Assembly Operations.

What You'll Do

  • Implement manufacturing process requirements for new products throughout Seat & GA Sub-Assembly operations.
  • Understand process capabilities through critical data analysis and in depth understanding of the product. Participate in the transition of a product from concept to pilot line production and into mass manufacturing.
  • Discover and test feasibility of alternative uses of existing process/equipment for new designs.
  • Takes a leadership role in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) team to ensure early manufacturing consideration in design cycle.
  • Develop key KPIs, such as Quality, Safety, Rate, Downtime, and Manpower requirement; set targets and drive projects to meet those targets from the product conception phase to the production launch.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by characterizing and optimizing existing processes, reducing waste by the utilization of lean manufacturing tools and concepts such as value stream mapping, line balancing, waste reduction, etc.
  • Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Eng., Design Eng., Quality Eng., and other teams to define, qualify, and track new processes and all associated work instructions, equipment, tools, materials, and training.
  • Champion in the development and maintenance of FMEAs and Control Plans.
  • Ensure processes provide a high level of safety and ergonomic compliance.
  • Develop specifications to assist in the procurement of equipment, including assembly equipment, storage equipment, and standard and specialized line display equipment. Assist in the buyoff and runoff of equipment.
  • Develop storage analysis to determine min and max WIP storage levels for parts being stored lineside.
  • Develop efficient storage layouts that maximize floor space utilization.
  • What You'll Bring

  • BS degree in IE, ME, EE, CE or equivalent
  • 3+ years of previous high-volume manufacturing or vehicle assembly experience
  • Hands-on skills with hardware, tools, instruments, general electromechanical systems
  • Understanding of pre-determined motion of time studies
  • Have a demonstrated track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness improvement activities, Lean Manufacturing Principles application, and Start of Production projects.
  • Good understanding of Statistical Process Control, Factory Database Systems, Root-Cause Analysis, Data Analytics, Scripting, Database Query Development, Product Flow Optimizations, Buffer Modeling and Simulations.
  • Have demonstrated knowledge of Excel Data functions i.e., “lookup”.
  • Exceptional capacity to managing and document progress of simultaneous projects and programs.
