Process Engineering for new product introduction of Seats & GA Sub-Assembly
Operations.
What You'll Do
Implement manufacturing process requirements for new products throughout
Seat & GA Sub-Assembly operations.
Understand process capabilities through critical data analysis and in
depth understanding of the product. Participate in the transition of a
product from concept to pilot line production and into mass manufacturing.
Discover and test feasibility of alternative uses of existing
process/equipment for new designs.
Takes a leadership role in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) team to ensure
early manufacturing consideration in design cycle.
Develop key KPIs, such as Quality, Safety, Rate, Downtime, and Manpower
requirement; set targets and drive projects to meet those targets from the
product conception phase to the production launch.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by characterizing and optimizing
existing processes, reducing waste by the utilization of lean
manufacturing tools and concepts such as value stream mapping, line
balancing, waste reduction, etc.
Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Eng., Design Eng., Quality
Eng., and other teams to define, qualify, and track new processes and all
associated work instructions, equipment, tools, materials, and training.
Champion in the development and maintenance of FMEAs and Control Plans.
Ensure processes provide a high level of safety and ergonomic compliance.
Develop specifications to assist in the procurement of equipment,
including assembly equipment, storage equipment, and standard and
specialized line display equipment. Assist in the buyoff and runoff of
equipment.
Develop storage analysis to determine min and max WIP storage levels for
parts being stored lineside.
Develop efficient storage layouts that maximize floor space utilization.
