Position Overview
This position will provide comprehensive Engineering support to the
Manufacturing Engineering Manager and other site leadership team members. The
T & E Engineer oversees the complete development of tools, jigs, fixtures,
equipment and associated processes to reach production run rate targets with
Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost within budget and timeline requirements
and to deliver components according to drawings specifications and customer
requirements.
About the Role – You will:
Build plan, update, monitor, report status for tools, jigs, fixtures,
equipment and associated processes to reach program objectives, production
run rate and do-it- right first time
Utilize design for 6-sigma methodology on tools, jigs, fixtures,
equipment, and process according with product key characteristics.
Collaborate with vendors, AME, engineering, and quality to defines tools,
jigs, fixtures, equipment & associated process specifications for the
programs to meet program objectives, deliverables, and milestones.
Provide and execute lean solutions to reach reliable tool, equipment,
ergonomic requirements.
Provide technical support to the tools and equipment supplier RFQ,
technical reviews and validation process.
Provide inputs for PFMEA, Control Plans related to tool, equipment and
processes.
Generate the purchase requisition for tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
Liaise between program, AME, engineering, quality, production team, and
toolmaker to ensure tuning & implementation of product modification.
Supporting the coordination of all necessary material (availability of
raw material, packaging, first articles and checking fixtures) are in
place to perform the trials in the best conditions.
Identify gaps to serial production and major risks impacting the defined
targets, set-up a convergence plan.
Track progress and convergence of all defined targets (cycle time, scrap
rate, dimensions …) to keep Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost in line
with business objectives.
In charge of the pre-acceptance of Tool & Equipment at tool suppliers:
Organize production trials performed at suppliers.
Ensure all targets checks done at production trials.
Ensure production trials performed before tool / equipment transfers from toolmaker/ equipment provider to plant including scrap level and cycle time.
Ensure the proper transfer of the Tooling & Equipment from suppliers to
the plants:
Provide the necessary information regarding Tooling & Equipment to Logistics to ensure proper transportation set-up.
Transfer of proper documentation to the plant together with the Tool & Equipment
Check with the plant good preparation of the Tooling & Equipment reception and installation into the plants.
In charge of the pre-acceptance of Tool & Equipment at the plant:
Support and follow production trials performed at plant.
Support plant to perform all targets checks at production trials (Production Trials, Mass Production Trials) and track progress of all defined targets (cycle time, scrap rate, dimensions …)
Define & lead the convergence plan in case of target gaps.
Follow-up the final acceptance of Tooling & Equipment at the plant (until
SOP):
Monitors T & E and associated process performance in the plant through the daily KPIs reported by the plant.
Ensure conformity of the produced part versus the product specifications, through process parameters optimization.
Follow-up convergence plan until the final acceptance
Capitalize on program experience by:
Updating and finalizing the program documentation related to Tooling, Equipment, and associated processes.
Raising and recording Lessons Learned
Raise proposition for standards update or creation.
Support design to cost approach and design to manufacture approach.
Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost
reduction.

You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and collaborate
with other Manufacturing team members located at the facility.
About You:
Knowledge in project management process
Knowledge 3D Modeling software, Catia, Solid works etc
Knowledge of GD & T.
Ability to apply design concepts to production applications.
Knowledge of automated production line equipment, tool, jig and fixtures
Result and data driven with strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Your Experience Includes:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, and significant professional experience
Experience in design of parts, tooling, and/or equipment is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in high volume manufacturing
environment, preferably in automotive and aerospace sector
