The Factory Software team is at the forefront of building a consistent and distributed computing environment for the manufacturing world at Tesla. This team is responsible for building and supporting infrastructure for Tesla's future products and to enable our manufacturing operations to grow at ludicrous speeds. Tesla is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to join our team's mission in building the next generation of manufacturing solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Build amazing web and mobile experiences written in industrial, up-to-date frameworks, such as Angular and React.
  • Plan and create responsive UIs for all mediums, screen sizes, and device types
  • Build flexible and customizable screens with your teammates
  • Internalize user needs and promote good usability and accessibility in every feature
  • Be nimble and react quickly to changing business conditions
  • Work with customers, product managers, QA engineers, and release engineers to own and bring your solution from development to production
  • What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years building web and/or mobile experience with evidence of exceptional ability
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong proficiency in Typescript/Javascript, CSS (SASS/SCSS is highly preferred), and HTML
  • Thorough understanding of popular web frameworks and their core principles
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new web technologies
  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies, such as HTTP(S), REST, WebSockets, and JSON
  • Experience working with and manipulating responses from RESTful APIs
  • Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, Git, etc.
  • Fluent in web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility
  • Knowledge of maintaining, troubleshooting, and debugging live software systems
  • Experience with user design is a plus
