The Staff Program Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all operational product launches within Proterra's global markets. All product launches will be coordinated from the released Product Life Cycle/Stage Review process, which includes initial program concept approval through release to production ensuring that all objectives are fulfilled. This position will require extensive communication and relationship building with external and internal customers, critical vendors, as well as cross functional teams to drive deliverables for the successful launch at customer sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify deliverables and objectives for each program.
  • Lead global program launch teams and facilitate the communication and interaction amongst the functional representatives from pre-RFQ through launch of complex
  • Work closely with functional representatives on the global team to ensure that all plans are operational and timely.
  • Track program against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status to supervisor on a regular basis, and executive staff on a set frequency.
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated occurrences which impact timeliness and quality.
  • Make initial contact with internal and external stakeholders including supply base, as determined.
  • Integrates theory and principles with organization practices and precedents requiring knowledge of company's business, products, and process.
  • Ensure that the product characteristics are developed to meet or exceed Proterra's quality standard.
  • Ensure development sample product including PPAP samples are delivered in the expected timeframe.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback.
  • Manage program's budget and overall program profitability. Define, manage, and report relevant program KPI's.
  • Resolve conflict amongst program team members.
  • Provide feedback regarding employee performance on a program team to the functional manager for documentation.
  • Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality or on-time delivery.
  • Recommend and lead efforts to improve existing processes to improve quality or on-time delivery via Proterra's lessons learned program.
  • Participate and assist with the coordination of Proterra's product launch lessons learned program.
  • Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs.
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports including Proterra's phased deliverable documentation.
  • Reconcile records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
  • Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Investigates and challenges questionable data.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.
  • Qualifications:

  • Education/Knowledge
  • Master's degree in a business-related discipline (i.e. Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Business Communication, Accounting, etc.),
  • Six years of related work experience in a similar role implementing global project launches for an established organization.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Project Management expertise, PMP a plus
  • Experience in directly managing projects in manufacturing, automotive or technology environment.
  • Working knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
  • Ability to prioritize and to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.

  • This position will be part of the Powered PM team that reports under Proterra's General Manger's team.
