What to Expect

The Tesla Battery Electronics and Test team is looking for a self-motivated, passionate Technical Program Manager with high energy to make things happen. You will drive electronics and test projects across a wide range of technology groups in electrical vehicle and energy storage products. This role entails significant leadership in product and manufacturing system design ranging from technology development, scheduling,engineering builds, validations, supply chain management, outward-facing communications, production ramp, and ongoing fleet support.

What You'll Do

  • Drive the team to achieve high quality and robust electronic design and test solutions while partnering with key technical leaders, and ensuring each team is methodical in their design/project approach.
  • Efficiently manage project scope, schedule, cost, and resources to ensure goals are achieved consistently on time.

  • Create and optimize advanced product development and validation processes. Make the process easy for the team to follow and administer, while providing maximum value for the overall business.

  • Ensure all designs have robust validation and execution plans, to achieve quality and risk reduction goals for projects.

  • Drive initial NPI launch of products in domestic and overseas locations.

  • Act as the key design team interface to supply chain and suppliers, ensure all designs have optimal supply chain management and ramp plan.

  • Lead comprehensive product improvement projects, derived from fleet analysis of failures, yield in production, and cost down initiatives outlined by executive management.

  • Significant leadership and participation in the FMEA process for electronics, systems, and integration design areas.

  • What You'll Bring

  • BS in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent; Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science preferred

  • Experience in technical project management in hardware or software a plus

  • Demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems

  • Ability to effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel

  • Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining and communicating schedules.

  • Knowledge of electronics and firmware fundamentals, ability to understand sophisticated electronics system design a plus

  • Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain personnel.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to understand complex problems and summarize in a simple way to a wide audience.

  • Must be proficient user in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word; Experienced with JIRA, Confluence, and Enovia a plus

  • Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for overall team success.
