Overview

Technical Project Manager - Powertrain and Thermal Controls at Canoo will drive the development of features to meet the program timelines and deliverables. The role requires the ability to coordinate and drive several cross-functional projects, as well as lead the teams to execute the program goals. The role will align both software and hardware components to achieve a smooth integration for development. The role will be to communicate project updates and issues to the program management team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage progress of Powertrain and Thermal controls projects.
  • Understanding of technical aspects and capabilities of their organization.
  • Develop and own component-level roadmaps, timelines, and critical dependencies for powertrain and thermal software development teams.
  • Manage weekly meetings to gather updates, issues, and dependencies from team.
  • Coordinate and Triage software issues and incidents on vehicle level for timely software fixes.
  • Coordinate with Software Test Organization to validate software releases.
  • Lead technical discussions with the system's organization to gather vehicle behavior information and freeze system requirements for software development.
  • Escalate blocking issues to obtain direction from management.

    Qualifications

    Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required - degree in computer/electrical engineering or related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience working as a project manager.
  • Expert in Project Management and Task Management tools.
  • Technical knowledge of Powertrain and Thermal Controls technologies.
  • Exposure to automotive industry (preferably EV).
  • Worked in an AGILE environment.
  • Self-driven and passionate about their work.
  • Strong organization, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a software engineer or a test engineer within automotive software engineering is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience in AUTOSAR.
  • Basic understanding of automotive network strategies (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Experience with requirement management tools.
  • Travel Requirements

  • 5% travel may be required
