What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an amazing Test Rngineer to facilitate integration of in house developed automated manufacturing systems used for worldwide production of vehicle, cell and energy products. As a member of our team, you will ensure the products developed by the Core Test Engineering Technology (CTET) team meet our world class expectations and ensure success of the overall project. You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world's energy infrastructure, and thrive working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What You'll Do

• Availability (cycle testing, software faults, maintenance, etc.), and cycle time requirements

• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, process engineering, quality engineering, and maintenance engineering to ensure CTET products are meeting & exceeding expectations, and if not; understand the shortcomings

• Perform preemptive data analysis and voice of the customer (VOC) discussions to understand challenges with CTET equipment post deployment, and advocate for solutions that align with both CTET and production's goals

• Understand the engineering first principles of CTET equipment and have a systems level grasp of operations so you can be one of the key points of contact

• Advocate for new technologies that advance our tech stack to be best in class

What You'll Bring

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or proof of exceptional skills in related field, with practical hands-on engineering experience

• Fluent with various forms of SQL, specifically able to write highly performant queries that efficiently obtain large amount of data

• Basic ability to perform data analysis via scripting languages such as Python or R

• Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

• Effective at summarizing/presenting data in a manner that is easily digestible to various technical and non-technical audiences

• Hands-on experience with robotics, manufacturing, automation, and other various engineered hardware is a plus

• Experience with Golang, C/C++ or other compiled languages is a plus

• Experience in mechanical or electrical design work is a plus

• Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for overall team success

• Possess strong communication skills and a preference for delivering as part of a team
