Overview

The Vehicle and Diagnostic Test Engineer is responsible for designing vehicle and system level test procedures, creating judgment criteria to assess test results in order to validate design requirements, debug hardware/software issues and work with cross functional team for the fix. This position requires a talented engineer with passion for and experience with electric vehicles in a practical, multidisciplinary environment. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (80s of the Position)

  • Support testing at both the vehicle and system level.
  • Triage, debug and resolve hardware and software issues in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure diagnostic coverage of vehicle functionality.
  • Design Vehicle Level Test Procedures and create Judgment Criteria to assess test results in order to validate Vehicle Design Requirements are met.
  • Plan and execute vehicle level dynamic and static test activities per test plans developed in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for retrieving, storing and analyzing logged data from tests and compare to design specifications.
  • Qualifications

    Required Experience

  • BS in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience in debugging and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • At least 2 years experience with automotive electronic systems and/or control logic, candidate must understand function of all electric vehicle systems.
  • Working knowledge of automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Experience writing requirements at vehicle, system, and component levels.
  • Experience reading LV and HV electrical architecture diagrams.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition software and data collection.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, displays a high level of maturity, ability to work as a member of a small nimble team, ability to work in a self-directed manner.
  • Preferred Experience

  • MS degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience using a requirements management database (e.g. Polarion, DOORS, Jama, etc).
  • Working knowledge of automotive software architecture and implementation.
  • Data Analysis experience with VSignalyzer, MatLab, Python, etc.
  • Experience working within an Agile development framework & using relevant tools (e.g. JIRA).
  • Travel Requirements

  • The role will be based in Justin, TX and will require up to 50% travel.
