What to Expect

The Tesla Energy Technical Content team creates and manages a wide variety of technical documentation that supports key stakeholders across multiple product lines and business functions, including Energy Storage, Charging, and Solar. The team is looking for a senior video producer who has experience working with technical subject matter experts to conceptualize, plan, shoot, edit, and deliver entire sets of instructional video content for various product lines. This is a hands-on role that requires full ownership of all stages of video production in the studio and in the field. This role is full-time and onsite in San Jose, CA, with travel to various other locations as needed.

·Plan, write, and develop scripts, shot lists, and storyboards that present complex technical information in a clear, concise, and engaging format, to be translated into a high-quality video asset.

·Collaborate closely with technical subject matter experts and stakeholders to proactively plan and scope requirements for training videos across various product lines.

·Create a wide variety of digital content, including videos, motion graphics, and photography.

·Drive the localization of video content and related assets for global markets to fulfill region-specific requirements.

·Manage tasks and information flow using available project management tools, such as Frame.io, JIRA, SharePoint, and Confluence.

·Travel is needed to capture content in the field (up to 50%)

What You'll Bring

What You'll Bring

·5+ years of video content development experience working with technical subject matter experts, or in a similar product-focused role; a portfolio demonstrating past work.

·Experience using industry-standard camera equipment (e.g. DJI, Sony, GoPro, etc.) in a dynamic shooting environment to achieve a desired look from a shot list.

·Proficiency with applications such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.

·Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel in the context of managing the logistics of video content projects and file management.

·Experience in lighting, audio recording, and motion graphics.

·Flexibility in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

·Ability to manage multiple competing projects and timelines and communicate any risks/pivots in a timely and professional manner.

·Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally with multiple teams (engineering, quality, service, safety, etc.) toward a common end goal.

·Proactivity and initiative in driving projects, seeking the correct parties, and finding solutions to issues/blockers.

·Strong verbal and written communication for scripting, storyboarding, etc.

·Strong willingness to build sets for use in video production; strong willingness to learn technical subject matter (e.g. electrical, solar); and FAA Part 107 certification.
